Lazy, Rainy Day

This is what our last 2 days have consisted of.....

absolutly nothing!

Maggie told me they were the perfect days. No clothes, no cars, no nothing.....just PJ's, TV, toys, and snacks. She doesn't have many more days to do this.....but I don't want to think about that right now!

Right now the kids are playing Wii...Maggie is cheering/coaching Owen on Mario Kart. I am ready for the hot sunny days to come back so we can get back to the pool, but these few rainy, do nothing days have been nice.

Even Josie tried to relax haha.....

She was up and down, in and out of this room.

And her latest interest is pulling her diaper down below her booty and then pulling it back up. She did this over and over all morning.

Every now and then something would catch her eye on the TV and she would do this....

and then look at me like this.....

as if to say, "did you see that??"

And every littl bit she would sit down, pose and look at me and say, "Cheese!!"

or getting knocked over the head by Owen....

And here is my perfect Maggie....just enjoying her show oblivious to any of the chaos going on around her!

So that is all the fun we have been having....we are about to go make some banana bread, which my kids both chose over making chocolate chip cookie dough! We had best get going on that while Josie is napping! She is a bit more of a help than we need.

Owen's photo shoot....

In honor of Owen turning 4, here are some of the pictures from his "photo shoot" for his birthday invites....

Isn't he cute!

And in other big news.....

Maggie has 2 loose teeth! Her dentist said a few weeks ago that there were 2 loose ones but I couldn't really tell. Now her bottom one is super loose and the top one is getting there. How is she old enough to lose teeth???

Here is Maggie and Owen jumping off the diving board to Joe.

Maggie doesn't even need Joe to get her anymore, he was just there for support. She can swim her way to the side by herself. Owen on the other hand, Joe says is "dead weight". He has no interest in trying to swim to the side if your going to carry him there. haha

Happy 4th Birthday Owen!!

It is so hard to believe that Owen is turning 4 years old. I cannot believe how quickly the years fly by, and I don't like it. But since there is no stopping his growing up, nor slowing it down....I have to just enjoy it, which is just what we did this weekend.
Thursday, which was his real birthday, we took cupcakes to free lunch to share with his friends that were there. We played at the park for awhile and then headed home for naptime. That evening we met Mom and Dad in Frankfort for dinner at Panera bread and then we all headed back to the house to visit. Friday Dad and Joe played golf in the Lexington area. Mom and I were going to go there as well and shop a little but Josie went down for a late nap so by the time she woke up they were about done golfing. So we just stayed home and I got Owen's cake made and we went ahead and did all the prep work we could for Owen's party.

Saturday was his party day, which he thought was his real birthday as well. We had a full house, and it was a great day for a party. It was not hot at all so being outside was very enjoyable. Our friends Nick, Neila, Jeff, Sheila, Shannon, and Preston and all thier kids came. Plus Mom and Dad, Debbie and Larry, and my Aunt Patti K, Uncle Jim, cousin Jay and 2nd cousin Gracie came as well!
We had lots of kids to enjoy the party as well.

Owen was excellent that day, which is typical of him on his birthdays. As horrible (and I do not use this word lightly) as Owen can be at times, he always seems to rise to the occasion on social things and behaves great. Which I guess it a good thing, if you have seen Owen's bad behavior you know what I mean! :)
Owen had a Wow Wow Wubbzy party, which is a show on Noggin that he likes. I was pretty surprised he picked it since there is alot of other things he likes better but this is what he insisted he wanted for the past month or so. So I got into Wubbzy mode and planned his cake, games and even Wubbzy food.....

Marshmellow Lasagna, which is totally delicious!

I think the adults ate more of it than the kids!

He loved his Wubbzy cake and kickity kick ball cupcakes.

(Although he and Maggie were quick to point out the blues were not the correct color....I was aware of that!)

After cake time we did a few games. Pin the bowtie on Wubbzy

and a candy filled pinata. Maggie's string is the one that broke the pinata....I love her face in the picture.

And then it was time to open gifts. He was so cute this year and listened to me read every card before he opened the present.

This was a first for that, but at least this year he knew who got him what!

This is Neila-Susan's baby Jackson. He got passed around to I think every person there at some point and was as happy as can be the whole time.

He even let us put a party hat on him!

Josie enjoyed Owen's cake as well and once she realized what had fallen out of the pinata she wanted in on that too.

It was a perfect day and Owen loved everything about it so I was happy. Thank you to everyone who came to celebrate with him!

Mom and Dad stayed the night and Gracie stayed with them too for a sleepover with Maggie and Owen. Maggie espeically thought this was great. Gracie was great to play with both of them.

That evening Owen tried out his new HULK gloves on JaJa

And then Josie tried them out on her Daddy!

Maggie and Gracie slept on the air mattress in the basement outside of Mom and Dad's room that night. Mom said she could hear them talking until a little after 11 and then they finally got quiet and fell asleep. I asked them the next morning what they were talking about and Gracie said she was telling Maggie stories about her dog, which would be Maggie's favorite kind of story!

Sunday we went to breakfast with MiMi, JaJa, and Gracie before they headed back to WV. Here are the kids with Mom and Dad before they left.

Then we just had a very lazy Sunday which is what we needed after a full weekend.

Here are some more pictures of the party...

Maggie had a hard time at first with it being Owen's birthday but once the party got started she just had fun with her little brother.

Here is Owen with his Nana and Papa

And his MiMi and JaJa
