The Wiggles!!

Joe and I took Maggie to see the Wiggles on Saturday afternoon. She had so much fun and loved it so it was money well spent. We had great seats and she was able to see perfectly and had room to dance around, which she did. This was actually Joe's birthday gift to her and he did a great job! We went out to eat at the Cracker Barrell on saturday evening and maggie came home and played with her new toys until bedtime. Joe and I went out after church on sunday to the bowling alley and I surprised him, and myself, with bowling a 117 and a 115. This is pretty good since I haven't bowled in years. We had a lot of fun and since his work is having a get together in december at the bowling alley he knows he doesn't have to worry about me embarrassing him adn being totally horrible!! Tonight is Trick-or-treat and maggie is very excited, although she doens't even know what trick or treat is. She just knows it has the word treat in it so it must be good. :)

I will put up some pics after tonight of them in their costumes....but as a sample, here is one we took this weekend. Isn't Owen really looking more and more like Joe?? Hahaha

Birthday Fun

Well, Maggie had her 2nd birthday party this past friday night and ate more cake and got lots more gifts. She has had so much fun playing with all of her new toys this weekend. Joe and I got a few much needed dates also this weekend with mom and dad here. We headed out on friday night to what was going to be a quick trip to the mall. Well, we ended up staying out until almost midnight. We had forgotten how nice it is to be "kidless" every now and then. The best part was coming home to sleeping children!! thanks mom and dad. :)

Resting up

Well, yesterday and today have been lazy days for us. I guess we're recooping from a busy weekend and getting ready for more fun this coming weekend. Yesterday Owen went and got his 3 month pictures taken and did pretty good. He is such a smiley baby and of course he was totally serious the whole session but he will still look cute in them. We didn't do much of anything yesterday evening and we all went to bed early, Owen at 6:30, Maggie at 5 till 8 and Joe and I at 8:30. But I guess maggie had taken way too late of a nap and didn't end up falling asleep until 10. So, after going in 3 times to keep putting her diaper and PJ's back on her I finally got to sleep about 10:30. So much for going to bed early. We all were up this morning by 7:30 and Maggie lounged in her pj's watching wiggles until it was time to go to playgroup. Everyone is now taking their much needed naps and I think I may take one too! Here are a few pics of the kids looking cute!

Fun weekend

We had a great weekend, Maggie had lots of fun with her Uncle Isaac, Grandma, and Grandpa who were here to visit for her birthday. She had her party with them on Saturday evening and got to eat cake and open presents. She was so cute, she wanted to stop and play with everything right after opening it and we had to keep reminding her to go back and finish opening. Her cake turned out really cute and yummy!! She especially liked the icing. She gets to have fun all over again this comign weekend with her 2nd birthday party with mom, dad, amanda and tres. So with two birthday parties, the wiggles concert and trick or treat, she is not going to know what to do after october is over and we're back to everyday life!! Sunday evening we took her to Chuck E. Cheese to play but for some reason she didn't really want to play on anything except the ski ball (which most of her balls ended up in another lane) So anyhow, it was a fun weekend for she and Owen, who just smiled and slept mostly!! Here are some pics.

Maggie's Two!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAGGIE!! I cannot believe my baby girl is two years old today. I put up balloons and streamers and a banner last night and when she got up this morning she saw it and smiled and said "Happy Maggie". She hasn't quite gotten the birthday part yet. :) She has grown so much since last year, I was looking at pics from her 1st birthday and cannot believe the change. Her Grandma, Grandpa, and Uncle Isaac are coming up tonight to have her party tommorow with them so that will be fun. I have been making her cake today and just took a break to get online for a second. We haven't done much today, just ran to the post office and baked! Here are a few pics of Maggie in her birthday princess dress posing for her birthday announcments. I will post pics of her party after tommorow. Everyone is napping so I best get off here and make the most of my time!!

Happy Baby

Not alot going on today, we had playgroup this morning than came home and took a walk before nap time. Maggie is now sleeping and Owen took an okay nap this afternoon (better than yesterday). He woke up about 30 minutes ago in the happiest mood and has just been laughing and smiling at me. Thought I would post a few pics

"Rollin' down the sandhills"

So this afternoon after nap I hear maggie in her room listening to her "Wiggles" cd and go to find her rolling around her room to the song "Rollin' down the sandhills". She was too cute and knew I thought it was cute so she continued doing it long enough for me to snap a few shots. She got a table and chairs for her room and loves sitting at it and reading books and doing puzzles. She is such a good girl!

Lazy Monday

We didn't do much this weekend, just went out saturday night and shopped a little bit and then went to church yesterday. We had a cookout last night with our small group at church, so that was fun. Today me and the kids have just hung around the house and ran out to walmart and the post office. While we were at the post office this older man in line behind us began talking to maggie while I was checking out. I looked back to see him pull out this small box from his pocket that said "Box-o-tricks on the top of it. As he opened it I see that it is filled with maggie's all time favorite treat...M&M's. She of course at this point would have happily left with this man and his "box of treats" and she begins filling her hands with these M&M's. This was one of those times when I was so grateful that my 2 year old still takes a pacifier becasue she had it in her mouth and would have had to drop her handfuls of M&M's in order to take it out and eat them. I was trying to pay and get my stamps while keeping an eye on her and this man, who I am sure was just being nice. Inside I am totally losing it hoping she does not eat an M&M from this man, I don't know if it's because I am a nurse and have a weird germ phobia when it comes to my kids or because I watch way too much Oprah and Dr. Phil and think that every person is out to harm my children...(which is what my husband would say)...anyhow the thought of her eating that candy made my skin crawl! So we check out and leave and as we get into the car I open her hands and let all her "treats" fall onto the street. She of course has a total meltdown as she is watching me throw away this candy that she was so excited about only a minute before. So I get her to calm down as we drive away by telling her I will get her a whole bag of clean M&M's at Walmart. So we go to walmart and as I promised she got her M&M's and was quite happy with them. So that has been our day so far. They are both in bed now and I just went to change Maggie's sheets b/c she once again decided to take all her clothes and diaper off and pee all over her bed. For some reason naptime is when she decides potty training is a good idea and so she takes everything off and screams MOMMA....POTTY.. over and over. Owen is trying to fall asleep now also so I am hoping to get a few hours to myself to get a few things done. This friday is Maggie's birthday so I am going to go wrap her presents while she sleeps.

4 short of a dozen

Not alot going on today. Joe is out hitting golf balls and Maggie is sleeping. I was getting ready to lay down and catch up on some sleep but Owen decided he wanted to get up, once again, and nurse. He has been nursing every hour the past two afternoons so I don't know if it's a growth spurt or what. I would think he wouldn't sleep 13 hours a night if he was that hungry, but oh well! So, he is now just sitting here in his bouncy chair staring at me. Thursday evening I took the kids out to Grand Prairie Mall, which to those of you not from here, is an outdoor mall we have. (Yes, I know, Illinois is a strange place for an outdoor mall). We were going to meet Joe for dinner but after an hour Owen was fussy and Maggie was ready to go so we just met him at home and picked up Steak and Shake. Yesterday we met with my friend Anne and had lunch with she and her two youngest kids. Maggie had fun with them and got to see even more of them last night. Since I have always wanted alot of kids I decided to do a trial run and volunteered to watch my friend Anne's 6 children. (yes, that is not a mistype....she has 6 under the age of 10). So along with my two we had 8 kids for the evening. Maggie was in awe of so many playmates and had a blast. They all were really good and had alot of fun. I was totally exhausted by 11 last night when they left though. So anyhow, Joe has decied he never wants 8 children, I have met him halfway and am shooting for 4. :)

Puzzle Time

Maggie loves doing puzzles and found a new number puzzle today that I had put up for her birthday. Anyhow, she had been sitting in the floor for over 45 minutes today doing this puzzle over and over when I took this picture. We went out to lunch today with Mary, Megan and Emma, which was the highlight of Maggie's day. Everyone is now napping and I am getting ready to get comfy and catch up on Dr. Phil!!

Owen's pacifier

Owen has begun sucking his 3 middle fingers as a way to pacify himself latley. It is so cute, he cannot seem to keep his pappy in his mouth so when it falls out he just pops in his fingers and goes to town. Every morning when I go to get him up I find him just looking around and sucking his fingers

PUMPKIN PATCH

Our friends Nick and Neila-Susan came to visit us this weekend and we took our traditional trip to Apple Blossom Farm. Maggie loved the slide again this year, as did her Daddy and Nick!! We got some cute pics of the kids, although Maggie was more interested in chasing goats and sliding than she was in getting her picture taken. Nick and Neila had some exciting news to tell us, they are expecting their first baby next June!! We are so happy for them. Of course Neila and I had to go out shopping to get this baby's wardrobe started. And Joe and Nick got lots of time on the golf course too. We had a great time with them and as always it was way too short of a visit. Come back soon guys!!

EXTRA HELP

Joe has been traveling lots over the past few months, to Ireland, Germany, and the southern states. I have had some extra help while he's been gone though, since I am still afraid of staying home alone, Mom has come up to help me out. Ususally bringing several others with her. This past trip that Joe went on Mom, Dad, Amanda, and Tres all came up. Needless to say, Maggie had more attention then she could have ever imagined. She danced and sang with Amanda, went on walks with Mimi, swang high on the swings with Tres, and of course ate ice cream with Grandad!! Owen enjoyed everyone being there too since it meant that he always had someone willing to hold him while he napped. While they were here, at age 10 weeks, he decided to make my life easier by sleeping 12 hours at night now!! I feel like a new person.
