Recap of our week

Last week seems like a whirlwind, but a fun one. The kids had tennis lessons all week which meant we had to be at the park at 9 am. We went to the pool for the day after lessons which meant I had to have not only the kids at the park, dressed with raquets, but also all our swim gear and lunch for myself and Maggie (since she won't eat free lunch). And all of this by 9 am, which we aren't ususally all even up by then! So it was quite a feat each morning.

Tennis went well, the kids liked it and had a fun time. I took some pictures the last day with my phone, they were hitting water balloons instead of tennis balls.

Owen's balloon kept hitting the ground and boucning so finally he just picked it up and threw it back at Mr. Dennis, which burst all over him. Owen thought it was very funny. At this age I can't say whether either will have a future in tennis but at least it let them try it out.

Josie got ahold of one of Sheila's girls goggles one day at the pool and wanted them on.

She walked around the pool for awhile like this.

Free lunch is one of the highlights of our summers and so I took a picture of the kids waiting in line to get their lunch the other day so we could always remember it.

As you can see, Josie greatly enjoys free lunch.

Owen usually does too. Maggie, she just enjoys the social aspect of it.

Josie and Molly were having fun the other day playing. Here is Josie doing her best to push Molly in the stroller.

She must be pretty smart as she had been trying to push from the top but eventually figured out it was much easier to push when she pushed from the bottom. And here is the cutest picture of Josie posing and saying cheese on the playground.

Although Joe didn't like the fact that she appears to have cleavage here. :) I told him she just hasn't lost all the baby fat yet. haha.

The water slide at the pool is where Maggie and Owen (and now Josie) spend a great deal of their time while we are at the pool. Here is Owen coming off the slide.

He and Bella are two peas in a pod and if given enough time together could probably stir up quite a bit of trouble.

I LOVED this picture of them from the pool the other day. Not sure what exactly was going on but she seemed to be getting a kick out of whatever Owen was doing. I told Shannon if they ever get married this would be a cute slide show picture.

We went to a picnic at Maggie's school-to-be last Thursday evening. They had food and fireworks which was really nice. We met alot of really nice families who also have children there so it was nice to get to talk with them. Here is Owen eating some watermelon.

And lastly, Josie and her trademark face.....

On a funny note....things I want to remember the kids saying:

The other day Owen had had a REALLY bad day and had pushed things as far as he could. I took him in the room to spank him and talked to him to be sure he understood why he was getting punished. As I am getting ready to spank him he says, "Hold on mommy, just tell me, are you gonna spank hard!!???" (Is there any other way to spank???) So he gets his punishment and we are getting up he says, "Mommy, how do you think what you just did makes Jesus feel???? I think He is SOOO mad at you!!!"

And Maggie has been quite inquisitive on the President once again. The other day in the car she was asking me questions and I was trying my best to answer her in the best way to answer a 5 year old. She told me the she liked John McCain because he looked like a man who would go to church. I told her that yes, I could see why she would think that. And she said,"but Obama Mommy....well, he just looked like...well, a cook." Where she comes up with this stuff I have no idea. But she is a sponge right now and LOVES to talk politics, religion, etc. So I am filling that sponge up with all the things I want her to soak up!

Owen's birthday is this week so we are getting ready to celebrate him turning 4! I cannot belive it.
So there is our week in a nutshell!!

Fun on the 4th!

We had a very fun 4th of July weekend. Friday afternoon we headed to Ohio to celebrate the 4th with Joe's family. We got there in the afternoon and Joe got in and let the kids swim a little, but being so overcast and cool the water was pretty cold so they didn't last too long. I went to the outlet malls (I can't be that close and not hit them up) and did a little shopping by myself which is always great!

Joe and his parents took the kids to Youngs Dairy Farm for ice cream and to let them play some. Here are the kids on a huge slide there that they really liked.

Josie wasn't tall enough this time but I am sure would have been all over taking a turn if we would have let her!

Saturday morning we just hung out at the house and let the kids play, Owen and Josie napped since they had gotten up so early which was great. Since Owen and Josie with no nap is not a lot of fun! Joe's family came that afternoon for a cookout and it was so nice to get to see everyone. Maggie loved Joe's cousins Maria and Michelle and enjoyed coloring and playing with them. (I didn't get a pic of Maria with her, but she is equally as pretty!)

They kept the kids quite entertained, and probably vise versa as well. Isaac taught me to play a new card game which was alot of fun and Joe's Aunt Sharon and I, who had never played before, were on a team and won! And now I can't even remember the name of the game.....maybe Kilts???? Anyhow, it was a lot of fun. The kids had alot of fun just running around and getting lots of attention. Debbie had gotten Maggie a new coloring book of princesses that Maggie loved so she spent a lot of her time picking out pictures and having all of us color with her. Josie was pretty fussy all weekend and on our way home today we found out why. She has her 2 bottom eye teeth coming in. She spent a great deal of the weekend with her hands in her mouth.

And here is her favorite face to make. Joe and I think it is sooo cute. She's been doing this for awhile but now it seems to be about everything she see's. Not sure what she was OoOOOHing about here, maybe the grill or swing?

We headed back home this morning and got home about lunchtime. I fed the kids and told Joe I was going to nap as I was exhausted. I slept until about 4 or so and then Joe went off to golf. On the way home we were asking Owen about his up and coming birthday party and verifying that he did in fact want a Wow Wow Wubbzy party. All of a sudden he says, Noooo, I really just want to have my party at Kings Island! We tell him he can't have it there so he says, Okay...then at Disney World. Joe tells him u have to fly to Disney and how would everyone get there, to which he says, "Daddy, just get a big plane and we can all go." Ahhhhh, maybe we need to teach them a little something about money. :) Anyhow, we had a great weekend, although it went very fast....
here are a few more pictures.
Uncle Isaac pushing Owen on the tire swing

I stole these pictures off of my cousin Lori's facebook. Here is Mom and Dad on the 4th of July up at PK and Jim's camp 4-wheeling. How cute are they!

Happy 4th of July!!

Hope you all had a great 4th of July.......I attempted to get out 4th of July pics......here is the outcome! Some of these pictures show my kids in their true form. Haha.....And I do think my little Maggie is model material in these, but once again....I am a little partial. :) I will post later about our fun 4th of July festivities! Enjoy!

Fun in July

So July has already been lots of fun and we aren't even a full week into it. The first of last week we got a great surprise with Aunt Amanda coming in for a visit. It was very short (just for the evening) but lots of fun. She had 2 of her friends with her, Victoria and Tara. They had been in Lexington and came to see the kids and have dinner with us. It was so much fun having them here and Maggie, Owen, and Josie loved playing with them all. Here they are building a pyrmaid.....

and here is Joe getting in on it.

Maggie was figuring out sleeping arrangments when we broke the news to her that they were not spending the night. She wasn't so happy about that. But we are excited that Amanda can make it back for Owen's birthday party!

The whole week was rainy and too cold for the pool. So since that is what we usually do everyday we had to find something else to get into. I took the kids to the library to turn in their reading logs on Thursday and they got to pick out a new book and get a bag full of great coupons.

There was a chick fil a coupon in there so we decided to go there and meet up with Shannon and her girls. They had fun playing in the playground there and then we went over to the Summit to shop a little. Owen loved this little porch at Hollister, I couldn't believe he actually stood still and smiled for me to get his picture.

When we got home I took the kids out back to get a picture of them looking so cute in their 4th of July outfits. But as with the picture people photo shoot....it went no where.

Here is Josie blowing her nose, one of her favorite tricks to do.
