We finally got some snow....mostly ice here in Ky. The kids have been waiting forever for it to snow and were so excited to wake up Friday morning to no school and some snow to play in. (Maggie was especally happy since she had a few tests she wasn't fully prepared for!)
The girls had gone out the night before around 10:30 when there was just enough snow to cover the ground.
They were up watching the Soundof Music and looked outside and just had to go try the snow out. Emmie Jayne was so excited and didn't even seem to notice how crazy cold it was! Poor Owen had to miss out since he had a stomach bug all day. But thankfully he woke up this morning feeling better and got to have some fun.
The kids beat us out there and this is how I found Emmie Jayne....trying to make a snow angel.
She was so bundled up that she couldn't get up though! So Maggie came to her rescue and pulled her back on her feet.
The girls had played in the snow out front the night before so there wasn't as much out there so they headed out back. The first thing Emmie went to was the slide
The others followed and found that ice/snow on the slide made it really fast and fun.
And Josie thought head first looked fun.....and loved it.
Emmie went from one thing to the next.....
she is a busy little girl
but my goodness is she a cutie!
I can only imagine how spoiled this new baby will be...because we all think Emmie is the most adorable thing ever......and all of us have a hard time saying no to her when she gives us her sweet little smile.
And Josie was all about having some fun and throwing some snow in anyone's face! She got her daddy a few times but thankfully didn't get me.
Emmie enjoying a little bit of snow.
Josie ready to toss some snow my way
she is smarter than that though.....especially when I am holding my camera!!
Owen wasn't feeling 100 percent but he had fun playing for a bit.
All of my kiddos playing in the snow
So thankful I have a husband who doesn't care to get dirty, wet, or cold with my kids. lol Because I am not a huge fan of any of those.
The girls began building a snowman but when it wasn't going as well as planned they just decided to make it a big popsicle.
I made sure each girl didn't switch sides. lol
Emmie getting her own snow ball to eat
Josie was trying to get to some icicles at the top of the swing set and climbed on Emmie's old baby swing which was already cracked....
she went right through it!
Owen went in before the girls...here are three sweet little sisters
And Emmie Jayne wanting me to "picture her" one more time.
We are hoping to get another good snow again soon. This wasn't very good sledding snow and the kids are wanting to get to sled. Owen and I are hoping we will get more Monday and have another snow day but I am thinking that looks doubtful.
