The Beach!!....part 1

So we have been back from the beach for a week now and I am a little behind at blogging....I know....but if you look at my sis's blog don't worry because she stole all my good pictures anyways. :) haha...just kidding sis. So we had an awesome week, none of us were ready to come back yet. Our trip had a bit of a rocky start though. Friday morning, the day we were leaving, Owen woke up not feeling well. He threw up mid morning and after that seemed to be back to normal. By the time Joe got home and we got packed up he was back in full force so we headed out and drove several hours. We spent the night somewhere in North Carolina and got up the next morning to finish up the 4-5 hours left of our trip. We hadn't been driving but maybe 45 minutes when Joe kept saying the steering wheel felt funny. Well, within a few minutes we both felt a major "boom" and God was so watching over us as there were few cars around and Joe was able to get the car to the side of the road safely. Here is what we saw when we got out of the car.....

Yep, we had a tire blow out. And not just any tire but one of the four BRAND NEW tires I had put on the car before our trip. So here we are stuck on the side of the interstate in "no where North Carolina" on a Saturday. Joe goes out to change the tire and finds that we have no jack or the tool to take the tire off in the car. We sort of remember seeing it in the garage at some point. So we purchase AAA over the phone while sitting there and wait 2 more hours for the tow truck to come get the tire changed. After that we headed to Walmart to get more new tires put on so about 6 hours later we got to continue our trip to the beach. The kids were awesome the whole time and enjoyed watching the car get jacked up.

We finally got to our hotel about 7 that night and the kids were so excited. We didn't get into our condo until the next day but the kids were so excited to see the beach we made a stop there on our way to the hotel and let them get out and walk around for awhile. They were so cute and excited. It was dark out but Maggie wanted to go out in the waves and Owen wanted his beach toys to play in the sand. We promised them first thing in the morning we would.

We wouldn't check in to the condo until around 2 or so the next day so we just headed to the beach to hang out until check in. I didn't want the kids getting in the water until we had a place to clean up so they enjoyed themselves in the sand and Maggie's new found passion......looking for seashells. Owen also thought this was fun, probably because it entailed playing in the sand.

After Mom, Dad, and Amanda got there we checked in and headed to the beach to play. The guys went golfing and the girls took the kids out. Maggie didn't waste anytime getting in the ocean.

She had her ocean partner in Amanda and they spent most of their time jumping waves. Owen began digging and Josie was in awe of the ocean.

She liked it on the beach, which I was happy about since alot of babies don't like being in the sand. She liked the sand and as much as she is a "mouther" she didn't try to eat the sand at all. How cute is her belly....glad I chose to go with the one piece for her!

We took the kids putt putt golfing a few times and Maggie like it more than Owen. Maggie acted as if it was a race though, she played like Dad...wanted to see how quickly she could get through the whole course. :)

Amanda tried out my sling and seemed quite the part of the hippie mom I thought.

Maggie and Amanda were pretty much connected at the hip.

Maggie's loved helping Amanda pick out her outfits for dinner each evening and getting to wear something out of Amanda's jewlery bag.

Okay, that is all I can do right now....naptime seems to be over and duty calls! I promise to do more later....and not in a week!
