The Beach....day 1

Our beach trip was wonderful! We had perfect weather the whole week....not a drop of rain once, not too hot, but hot enough, and great waves (thanks to the hurricane that was out there somewhere). We headed out from our house Friday afternoon, pulling Maggie out of school a few hours early. We drove straight through to meet up with Mom and Dad in Nitro to get the kids a bite to eat, nurse Emmie Jayne, and take a bathroom break before heading toward the Carolinas.

We headed out, Mom and I with the two littlest ones and Joe and Dad with Maggie and Owen. The kids all did awesome and we made it more than halfway there before stopping for the night. Maggie and Owen spent the night in Mom and Dad's room so Joe and I just had to share a bed with 2 kids instead of 4. :) We headed out the next morning and got to the beach a little after noon. We grabbed some lunch and went straight to the beach and let the kids play while the guys carried our stuff up to the room. We spent several hours at the beach and pool letting the kids get some energy out....

Maggie is always my first one out in the waves and went straight to them again this year. She has zero fear of the ocean and it was very strong this year and pretty big waves. We had to keep pulling her back in or one of us had to go out to get her as she would just keep going deeper and deeper.
It was hard to get a picture of her as she didn't come in to the sand much!


























Owen's favorite thing is to be buried in the sand. So that is what he wanted to do first.....and he loves coming up out of the sand as well.


















He also enjoys the water although he isn't quite as fearless as Maggie.































Josie didn't remember the ocean really from last year and wasn't too crazy about it at first but she did like the sand. She thought Owen being buried was so neat and wanted a turn being buried as well.

Emmie Jayne slept right thru her first time seeing the ocean!


Cuddled up in the sling and the noise of the waves was the perfect combo for a nap for her!

























We headed up to the pool for a bit before going out to dinner that evening.














Maggie and Owen loved showing off their jumps into the pool and relaxing in the lazy river.




















































Josie napped while we were at the pool and Emmie Jayne talked to JaJa about how she can't wait until next year when she can join in on all the water fun!


























We had a late dinner the first night at our usual first night dinner.....Carrabbas! Then it was off to Putt Putt golf for Dad,Joe, Maggie and Owen...after ice cream of course! Mom and I took Emmie and Josie back to the hotel to head to bed.
