This weekend we had a cookout with our friends, Dave and Jen, and their kids...Ruby, Jack, and Eli. I have known Jen since we moved to Shelbyville pretty much....Ruby and Maggie were in dance class together when they were 3 and I got to know her than. I have run into her over the past few years all over town....but this past year Owen and Jack were in preschool together which got us reconnected and it has been great. She is such a sweet friend and Joe and Dave hit it off as well. Our girls are the same age, so are Jack and Owen...and their baby Eli and Emmie Jayne are 3 days apart. And Josie fits somewhere in there...although she is very fond of Dave and spends alot of her time jumping around on him. I am so thankful that our paths crossed again and we really enjoy hanging out with them and although the boys won't be in school together next year I am sure we'll continue to see alot of each other.
The kids all had fun playing and making smores out back. Here they are covered in both marshmellow and chocolate...along with icee's.
Eli and Emmie Jayne didn't get to partake in all the sugar...but they did sample some graham crackers.
And Josie ate to her hearts delight all evening long, after cleaning out a bag of chips she moved onto smores....which ended up in her having more marshmellow in her hair than her smore...
she than moved on to the rest of someone's icee she found laying around.
Needless to say she got hosed off before she was allowed in the house!
We stayed up until about midnight and played games on the deck while the kids played, watched movies, and harassed us through the window about what we were doing. :) It was a fun night and we are looking forward to lots more fun nights this summer!
